Vediamo – the distributed diagnostic application for engines (Verteilte Diagnose Anwendung für Motoren) – is a software system for electronic control unit (ECU) diagnostics which is integrated in the CAESAR/DIOGENES process chain. It allows diagnostics on any ECU over K-line as well as CAN, and encompasses all established protocols from RTMD+, MBISO, KWFB, KW2000 to UDS. Despite its name, Vediamo is no longer limited only to engine ECUs.

Vediamo is based on the Mercedes-Benz DCDI standard communication platform CAESAR and hence supports all communication hardware such as, e.g., Part C, Part A, Part Y, etc. DIOGENES data, used by all diagnostics applications in the company and which can be drawn from the central TAMINO data base, can be used as diagnostics data.

Perform Variant Coding by Vediamo 5.0.3:

  • Start Ecoute
  • Load the system containing the ECU to be coded
  • Establish contact to the ECU
  • Select the menu entry Coding / Variant coding
  • If all preconditions are correctly entered in the system description, they are automatically executed when the Varcode window is opened. If this is not the case, you can execute the necessary services(e.g., release, programming mode, etc.) yourself by double-clicking in the selection window.
  • Proceed as described above.

eUpdate 2014AU1 is an important part of the VIDA 2014A installation. When VIDA 2014A is
installed for the first time, or if the previously installed version is not 2013D, it can take up to two hours after the registration of VIDA before 2014AU1 will be downloaded and installed. To force the installation of eUpdate 2014AU1, ensure that VIDA has been registered and then restart the computer. The eUpdate will then be downloaded and installed immediately.

Some users are not able to install this software or the software can not run after installation, please pay attention to the following Tips.

Today we install the Volvo DICE 2014A software for one customer, he requires install the software in DELL E6420 laptop.

As we all know, the requirements of VIAD DICE always complex and not more than hardware, but software as well. Otherwise you will met many headache errors.

I installed more than 8 times and tried Windows XP OS and Windows7 OS, both OS i tried to install based 32Bit. 64Bit I almost going to try before my success.

Here i just share with some important TIPS when install the Volvo Vida DICE software.

OS Environment: Windows XP 32Bit

Vida DICE software version: 2014A

Requirements:

  1. Windows XP SP3
  2. RAM 4GB
  3. Internet Explorer: IE8
  4. Free disk space: 20 GB at least

Please do notice, make everything ready before installation, otherwise, you will repeat to prepare to match the requirement one by one.

OS Environment: Windows 7 32Bit

Vida DICE software version: 2014A

Requirements:

  1. Windows 7 SP1
  2. RAM 4GB
  3. Internet Explorer: IE 10
  4. Free disk space:  20 GB at least

Please do notice, make everything ready before installation, otherwise, you will repeat to prepare to match the requirement one by one.
